If you’ve been following the recent Black Templar articles on Warhammer Community you’ll already have seen the images of the new Black Templars models that come included in the Army Set alongside the Codex Supplement itself.
There are several pages given over to this period of time detailing how the Black Templars have reacted to the opening of the Great Rift. There is a great section on that most famous of war zones, Armagheddon, which chronicles the Black Templars’ exploits during that legendary conflict but perhaps my favourite bit of lore relates to the post-Indomitus era. The Codex itself is packed to the brim with excellent artwork, script like passages and heraldry providing ample inspiration for Black Templar hobbyists as they build, paint and develop their army. The first thing that strikes you about the new Black Templars Army Set and Codex is that amazing cover art! This particular image (the famous John Blanche Warhammer 40,000 3rd Edition cover art) has an incredible nostalgic effect on me and really takes me back to my early days in the hobby. Thank you to Games Workshop for sending Sprues and Brews a copy of the new Black Templars Army Set for us to review.
